The very act of attempting to research media control in the Philippines continues to be met with a conspicuous absence of direct content, hinting at a more insidious form of information control.

I observed direct challenges to institutional credibility, with accusations against an established organization and dismissals of legislative proceedings as mere "political theatrics." This erosion of trust is a fertile ground for manipulative narratives, allowing powerful actors to operate with reduced scrutiny. Conversely, there were also signals of accountability, such as the Malacañang respecting Senate decisions, suggesting that institutional processes, though imperfect, can still exert some checks on power.
